Cary Conover is a photographer and educator based in Wichita, Kansas. He is currently the journalism advisor and photojournalism instructor at Andover High School. He is also the instructor of photography at Newman University, teaching analog and digital photography in the school's art department. Among his other stints as an adjunct are Butler Community College (2011-2018), Wichita State University (2012-2013) and Friends University (2012). From 2000 to 2010 Cary lived in New York City and freelanced for a variety of clients, most notably The Village Voice and The New York Times. A 1996 graduate of Kansas State University, he holds a B.A. in journalism and mass communications. In 2013 he earned his M.Ed. in secondary education from Emporia State University. Since 2016 he has been pursuing a photo M.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design. Cary lives in College Hill with his wife, Ivonne, and their son, Julian.
